The Evi 4-in-1 Montessori Evolutionary Bed by Family Nation is a single bed designed to accompany your child through every stage of growth, from birth to adulthood without the need to purchase other beds!
We listened to the needs of dozens of parents we consulted with in order to create a single high-quality solution, with beautiful design and long-lasting durability.
The initial position of the Evi Bed, as a Montessori-style floor bed, promotes children’s independence when getting in and out of bed, while a small gap between the slats and the floor ensures proper ventilation, keeping both the bed and mattress dry.
For the safety of babies from the very first months, our Evi Montessori Evolutionary Bed includes protective rails on all four sides of the bed. Five components (headboard, footboard, two-part side rail, and a fall-prevention rail on the access side) are ideal for ensuring maximum safety even for the youngest children.
The Evi Evolutionary Bed by Family Nation, assembled in the Montessori version, encourages children’s independence and confidence, helping them create a safe and comfortable space to sleep, rest, play, or read alone or with parents or siblings. The design ensures peaceful sleep even for more active children, thanks to the modular side rails. The rails are designed at a height that allows the use of an adult-sized mattress, making it comfortable if a parent wants to lie next to the child.
As children grow, the Evi 4-in-1 Montessori Evolutionary Bed easily adapts to their new needs. Without the need for additional parts, it is easy to raise the base and rails up to 23 cm from the floor by simply using the pre-drilled higher holes. No feet need to be added or legs changed to adjust the height. This ensures a comfortable and safe evolution without creating potential weak points in the structure. This configuration also creates useful space under the bed for storage or easier cleaning.
The 5 safety rails can be freely added or removed in different configurations, depending on the child’s growth needs.
We know (from experience!) that as the child grows, they will want a “big kid” bed without the house-shaped roof or barriers. We’ve designed the Evi Montessori Evolutionary Bed for this phase too! In fact, you can remove the roof and barriers and insert the four specially designed legs already included in the kit, transforming your Evi Bed into a classic single bed suitable for teens or even adults. Thanks to its generous size (200 x 90 cm) and sturdy frame and slats, it can support an adult weighing over 100 kg.
The kit includes everything you need: bed base, 5 rails, house-shaped frame, slats, and 2 sets of legs (for the house version and the single bed version). With its sanded finish, the bed will have a satin appearance and a soft-touch surface. - Materials: The bed frame is made of pine wood and the slats are made of 15 mm thick birch plywood. We have chosen particularly sturdy bolts to ensure that the Evi Bed remains solid and reliable over the years.

- The Kit Includes: bed frame, 5 sides (headboard, footboard, two-part side, and a fall-prevention side on the access side), house roof structure, slats, and legs for the single bed.
- The bed base is elevated from the ground without the addition of extra legs to avoid weak points. It is assembled at a height of 3.5 cm in Montessori version (to allow airflow) and 23 cm in single bed version.
- The protective sides allow the use of mattresses up to 19 cm thick, making the bed comfortable even for adults
- Supports a maximum weight of over 100 kg
- Age: suitable from the first few months of life up to adulthood (no age limit).
- Note: Pediatric guidelines recommend that infants sleep in the same room as the parents until at least 6 months of age for constant sleep monitoring. If you wish to use EVI from the first months, we suggest placing it in the parents' room close to you. If you prefer to place it in the baby's room, use it initially for play or daytime naps.
- Cleaning: Regular maintenance is very easy: just use a damp sponge, without cleaners, for gentle surface cleaning. We also recommend regularly cleaning the slats and the area under the mattress.
For more thorough cleaning and maintenance, you can use fine sandpaper (grain 180 or 220) on the areas that require it. The wood of Evi is untreated with varnish, so you can always refresh it by sanding. - Safety: There is no specific European regulation for Montessori-style beds, so we have applied the general safety principles valid for children's furniture. Furthermore, the Evi Bed meets the safety, strength, and durability requirements set by the European standard UNI EN 1725.
