Mini ShapeMaker: 25 Mini Printed Wooden Cubes for stimulating creativity (travel-sized set)
The Mini ShapeMaker is a compact, smaller and lighter version of the well-known ShapeMaker, invented by the award-winning British design team of Miller and Goodman. It contains 25 wooden cubes, reminiscent of children’s traditional wooden blocks, but with a difference – each is hand-printed in lively, colourful patterns, which when assembled make an unlimited variety of pictures. The materials have also been brought up to date – the wood used comes from a sustainable source, wood from the rubber tree, and the colour dyes are non-toxic. Children love the creative activity of putting together their own designs; alternatively they can follow the suggestions on the instruction booklet included in the set. There are no limits on the way they can use their imaginations, whether they choose to create faces, objects, animals or abstract designs. Comment from the judges of the Practical Pre School Award:"Children Loved this product, with the young ones making pictures from the patterned blocks and the older ones timing each other to see who was fastest. There were lots of different pictures to create, which really tested the children's thought processes as they had to get specific bricks for each picture. It promoted good team work and sharing skills, with the children taking it in turns to find pieces and choose pictures to put together. An all round great product."
Miller Goodman was created by two London designers who had the intention of inventing toys that would stimulate the imagination and creativity of children in simple, natural ways.
