Tired of the usual Advent calendar and looking for something a little more meaningful to brighten up the 24 days leading up to Christmas ?
Cúntala, Equal Opportunities Games had the brilliant idea of creating an inspirational combination Advent Calendar and book where the heroine is an astronaut who happens to be a mum who is travelling through space in the hopes of returning home in time to celebrate Christmas with her family! Note: the story is in Italian.
What adventures will she have? What kind of characters will she meet? This is to be discovered by opening a window every day for 24 days, in traditional fashion, to read a fascinating story, each one influenced by the theme of equal opportunities. Experiencing the journey in Terra chiama Mamma (Earth to Mum) gives children of all ages, and their parents too, the fun of anticipating and imagining the next stage of the story. This is an an activity that encourages curiosity, and promotes reflection on the diversity of the world, and the ability to marvel at small things. Beautifully illustrated by Italian illustrator Ilaria Gradassi, this is a book-game to keep and treasure, even after the holidays are over.
