Pure Montessori Bed BIG 160x70 cm - Shabby White - Made in Italy
The Montessori-inspired Pure Big bed by the Italian brand, Woodly, does not have borders. The minimalist structure has a rounded frame that holds the mattress keeping it firmly in place while suspending it in order to allow air to circulate.
It is 19cm high, allowing the child to get on or off the bed independently, as per Montessori philosophy. Children can begin by rolling off the bed and can slowly learn to get off without falling The bed is entirely handmade by Woodly, artisans in the hills of Parmain FSC- certified solid spruce and beech wood.
It is finished in natural shellac (French polish), bees wax and water-based paints. Shellac is a furniture finish that is traditionally used to polish handmade musical instruments and it is so safe and ecological that it is used also as a food colouring! We sell separately the correctly sized Futon (160x80 cm) - made of pure, non-treated, hypoallergenic cotton that is an excellent breathable insulator and provides protection from dust and dust mites.
The Montessori Big bed by Woodly (168x78cm) is ideal for children 2/3 years old up to 140cm.

Care: This bed is made of natural untreated material (absolutely free from chemical treatments, as anti fungi or anti mould) and fears humidity. Please, remove the futon weekly in order to let the wood breath and stay dry. This little trick requires a little effort, yet it allows you to sleep on a truly healthy bed.
